XYZ is an American adult-oriented nighttime programming block of children's pay television network Disney XD. The block launched on July 11, 2021. The block broadcasts nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Debuting in 2021, XYZ serves as the nighttime identity of Disney XD and specializes in airing TV shows and movies from Disney that are more for mature audiences, similar to the veins of Adult Swim and classic MTV, except the mature audience oriented programming would mostly come from Hollywood Pictures, 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, Touchstone Pictures, ABC, ESPN, Marvel, and formerly owned Miramax and Dimension, and a possibility for XYZ to produce their own original programming, and sometimes acquiring mature-themed television shows from different countries.

In September 2021, it was announced that XYZ blocks and dedicated channels will launch internationally starting in 2023. Similar to Adult Swim's case, in some countries, XYZ does not broadcast on a Disney network due to the fact that it ceased operations or that it's illegal to broadcast adult-oriented content on a children's network. So an XYZ block aired on other channels, for example, it airs on miscellaneous Viceland channels worldwide.

In November 2023, Praise Petey, Freeform's first animated original series, will premiere on XYZ, with new episodes premiering every Monday night at midnight as a makeup for FXX's special airing of the series being the only time the channel has aired the series.

On November 14, 2023, XYZ launched on Disney Channel Latin America.

On November 18, 2023 Ayo Davis confirmed that the DXP block that was on Disney XD from 2017-2018 would relaunch as part of XYZ on January 6, 2024, replacing Jetix, though gaming content won't air much often and it's going to be on the air for all seasons of the year.

On November 27, 2023, it was announced that Spark! will be replaced by a new block with the same format, XYZ Rebound.

On December 4, 2023, XYZ changed it's on-air branding and logo to slightly match the branding of Disney XD.

History[]

Originally, Disney was planning to use XYZ as a new name for "ABC Family" in 2003, to be targeted more towards a hip audience. Sadly, it was only a block on ABC Family, and it was short-lived. Disney still had plans to launch XYZ as a channel, but this time for a more mature audience.

In August 2020, Disney thought of launching an adult-oriented channel called XYZ aimed towards men and women ages 18-35, and airing content from Twentieth Television, Marvel and FXP, as well as producing it's own programming under the soon-to-be launched Middleton Street Productions.

On March 10, 2021, it was announced that XYZ had been reconstructed into a block on Disney XD. Disney Television had chose not to launch the block on Disney Channel because they wanted Disney Channel to keep a reputation as a channel airing content aimed for children for all 24 hours of the day, unlike Nickelodeon (justifiably airing the Nick@Nite block) and Cartoon Network (justifiably airing Adult Swim) nowadays.
