Plot[]

11-year-old Maxwell Johnson, Izzie McKenzie and Eric Smart are students at The Banana Splits' Sunny Primary School, the best primary school in Leicester, and are walking to school. At 8:35 am, when they arrive, the school's titular animatronic mascots: Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snorky, along with the school's kind and caring assistant head teacher Ms. Sunny Wachowski put on an assembly for all the students in Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 and then during the assembly, the school's jerky, cruel, abusive and alcoholic head teacher Mr. Darius Macaulay informs Ms. Wachowski that he is hastily and selfishly shutting the school done, fire all the staff, send away all the students to another school, and even dismantle the Banana Splits and send their parts to an amusement park.

Just one second after Fleegle overhears the conversation, the Splits' new software updates quickly malfunction, with Snorky kidnapping Bryant, an 11-year-old boy who is the school bully, and Fleegle forcibly thrusting a prop tree branch down Mr. Macaulay's throat, killing him. On the first floor of the school, Drooper somehow grows razor-sharp teeth and claws and gorily devours Derreck, the school janitor, while his fiancee Ms. Maya Forte, who is also Maxwell, Izzie and Eric's geography teacher, tearfully watches. Drooper hears that Maxwell and his two friends that they are looking for Bingo and sends Fleegle to trap the three friends in the toilets with Damien Johnson,a 10-year-old boy in Year 5, while he and Snorky make Ms. Wachowski and Mr. Dylan Jackson "DJ" McKenneth, Maxwell, Izzie and Eric's mathematics teacher, go through an obstacle course and Drooper kills Mr. McKenneth by stabbing him in the back with a knife and when Ms. Wachowski completes the obstacle course, Snorky bloodily decapitates her with a chainsaw.

Maxwell, Izzie, Eric and Damien escape the toilets and ask the Banana Splits' mechanic Jo on how to defeat the Banana Splits and Jo says that the virus that infected the Banana Split's programming is what drove the animatronics to murder. The quartet of kids find Bingo and convince him to help them and then he takes the four schoolchildren to the school hall.

Kevin, the school cleaner, saves Ms. Rachel, a science teacher, from Fleegle by pushing the malfunctioning animatronic dog off the second floor of the school and straight onto the ground floor of the school building. Meanwhile, Drooper and Snorky perform an "assembly" for all the frightened students by burning Mr. Macaulay's corpse with a flamethrower and killing Bryant by tearing him apart limb from limb. A redeemed Bingo gives the keys to Damien to free all the trapped and petrified students and the two help them all escape the school building, which has been set on fire by the same flamethrower that Drooper and Snorky used to burn Mr. Macaulay's corpse, and Maxwell, Izzie and Eric stay behind to fight Drooper and Snorky. Eric thrusts a crowbar into Drooper's head in order to deactivate him and Maxwell and Izzie impale an extendable ruler through Snorky's head in order to deactivate him.

When the three friends try to escape, Fleegle, who now has his right arm missing during his fall to the ground floor, corners them and then Bingo appears out of nowhere to fight Fleegle and save Maxwell and his friends. Fleegle reaches into Bingo's chest and rips out a blatantly heart-shaped piece of machinery out of it and Bingo pulls Fleegle's head straight off with his own bare hands, deactivating them both. Maxwell tearfully tells Bingo that he will always be his favorite before Bingo deactivates.

As the firemen, paramedics and the student's parents arrive, Maxwell, Izzie and Eric all go home with their parents. In the ruins of the school, Drooper reactivates and maniacally laughs in a distorted voice.
