Orbot and Cubot: Robots in Need is the tenth episode of My Friend Macey.
Episode Summary[]
Dr. Eggman is putting the finishing touches on a device that will cause a giant shockwave throughout the town, causing an earthquake. A captured Macey thinks he won't get away with this. Eggman laughs and calls Macey pathetic for even trying to stop him. He calls Macey as pathetic as a mouse who wants a cookie. Macey is insulted. Eggman says he needs to grab one last part. While he does that, Orbot and Cubot are fighting over the TV remote. Orbot wants to watch informational programing like Lost Treasures of Egypt, while Cubot is in the mood for a cartoon, specifically Chowder. Orbot and Cubot bump into Eggman's new machine, destroying it by accident. Eggman wonders what that was. He then notices the mess that was just created.
He can't believe Orbot and Cubot destroyed his machine. Now he has to start all over again and complete all 356 steps all over. Orbot and Cubot apologize over and over, but Eggman won't have it. He says he's just about had it with them. They were useless capturing the Wisps, they were useless rounding up The Deadly Six, and they were useless when Infinite came around. That's when Eggman fires them. Macey wonders what she just witnessed. Orbot and Cubot can't believe it. After all these years, they're now unemployed. Macey says she can get them a job, but only if they free her. Orbot and Cubot gladly free her. The two are excited about their new job. As they're all walking out of Eggman's lair, Macey asks if there's anything else the two robots need. That's when Orbot and Cubot begin singing a song about everything they've wanted but couldn't have because of Eggman.
After their song, Macey realizes they want a lot. She thinks they should just start small and get them the new job. As she heads to her workplace, Alyssa notices Macey helping Orbot and Cubot. Alyssa thinks this isn't good and wonders if Macey got mind-controlled to be evil now instead of her. Alyssa confronts Macey and thinks she needs to snap out of it. Macey says Orbot and Cubot aren't that bad of robots when they're not around Dr. Eggman. She tells Alyssa about how they got fired and need a new job. Alyssa thinks this says a lot about Macey's character; that she's willing to help people even if they're evil, or in this case formerly evil. She then asks where they're gonna work. When Macey tells Alyssa, Alyssa faints. Cubot wonders if she's okay. He thinks she needs CPR, and remembers to do it to the tune of the Bee Gees.
Over at Macey's work, Macey goes up to Lily and tells her about Orbot and Cubot, and how they're willing to work here. Lily isn't sure robots are exactly what they're looking for, but shrugs it off and lets them work. Orbot and Cubot are excited. They've never worked at a Mexican restaurant before. A montage plays of Orbot and Cubot happily working, and being surprisingly good at their jobs. Lily is impressed with how they're both working. Orbot takes on the grill, while Cubot makes online orders with Noah. That's when Cubot gets hungry and starts eating all of the orders. Lily decides right then and there that they're fired. Macey feels bad for them and thinks she needs to find them something else.
With Dr. Eggman, he's on step 45 out of 356 on rebuilding his machine. Metal Sonic is trying to help him reassemble it, but he's not very helpful. Eggman calls him as useless as he was in that tennis tourney. Eggman thinks he needs Orbot and Cubot back, because they at least understood how to make construction projects. Back at Macey's work, Orbot and Cubot leave the restaurant sad. Macey thinks she needs to go out there and talk to them. Lily wonders what the heck she's doing. Macey apologizes to Orbot and Cubot about them getting fired. Orbot says it's okay because it wasn't her fault. Cubot takes the blame for it, because he ate a lot of chicken burritos that he wasn't supposed to. Orbot can't believe Cubot just admitted his wrongdoing, because he'd normally just blame him for everything.
Macey thinks that if she goes back inside and tells Lily about admitting to their mistake, maybe she'll let them work again. Orbot and Cubot both think that's a great idea. The three head back inside. Lily is kind of mad at Macey for ditching them. Macey says she was just trying to make things right with Orbot and Cubot. She explains to Lily about how they admitted their mistakes and are wondering if they can have a second chance. Before Lily can make up her mind, a giant robot foot lands inside the building. Noah gets deja vu. Dr. Eggman has come back for Orbot and Cubot. He heard everything about admitting their mistakes. He really wants them back so they can create evil schemes together again.
With pleading puppy eyes, Eggman begs for his henchmen back. Orbot and Cubot give in and return to the Doctor. The three cheer as they decide to go back to the lair and reassemble the shockwave machine. Macey thinks that was the sweetest and weirdest reunion she's ever seen. Davien agrees. Macey thinks now that that whole mess is over, they can go back to a normal work day. Lily wonders who's gonna come repair the roof... again.
