Mario Kart: The Animated Series (マリオカート:アニメーションシリーズ Mariokāto: Animēshonshirīzu) is a Japanese anime television series created by Shigeru Miyamoto, produced by Studio Comet and Warpstar, Inc (which also worked on Kirby! Right Back at Ya!). The series is based off of the various Mario Kart games developed and published by Nintendo, presented in 2D hand-drawn animation and CGI animation.
The anime-like series follows the adventures of Mario and the others trying to save the balance of the universe, in the form of go-kart racing, from the clutches of Bowser after he takes possession of the Grand Power Star and uses its power to reconstruct various universes.
Plot[]
Super Mario Kart (1992 -1995)[]
When he manages to obtain access the Grand Power Star, Bowser, with his new obtained powers, tries to reconstruct the universe into his own empire. In an attempt to save the balance, Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Toad, Koopa Troopa, and Donkey Kong, Jr. try to stop him, but not before they interfere with his magic and effectively cause the Mushroom Kingdom, along with other galaxies, to merge in a rather un-orderly fashion: in the form of race tracks, meaning that the only way they can get back to Bowser is by using go-karts.
Along the way, Mario and the others overcome new obstacles, upgrades, power-ups, and many other advantages in their quest.
