Macey at Bat is the twenty-seventh episode of My Friend Macey.
Episode Summary[]
Emma has invited Taylor over to show her what she's been working on ever since Sage's appearance. Taylor was surprised to walk into Emma's room and find a giant bulletin board filled with all kinds of notes and photos. Emma has been theorizing about everything that's been happening in this town ever since Macey joined the heroes' team. Taylor wonders what this all even means. Emma isn't too sure about it, but says something big is definitely happening under their noses. Taylor isn't so sure Emma knows what she's talking about. Emma mentions that she once wished to have cool powers after witnessing Macey gain fire powers fighting the Icicle Golem. Emma says that she's going to look into something that could grant her such powers. Taylor isn't sure how to take in any of this anymore.
Elsewhere in town, Macey and Alyssa are strolling along. Macey is glad everything is at peace once again. Alyssa agrees. She thinks they need to go have some fun. Macey agrees, but wonders what they should do. All of a sudden, Macey and Alyssa walk by an electronics store, where a TV is playing the news. Jenny is broadcasting about a baseball tourney, where the winning team splits a cash prize of one million dollars. Macey and Alyssa look at each other and wonder if they're both thinking what they're thinking. They both decide to rally up a team. Alyssa stops in her tracks and realizes she can't play baseball. Macey ponders, and then notices someone who she think can help. To Alyssa's surprise, it's none other than Miguel Cabrera. Alyssa can't believe she's meeting him. Miguel says he'd be happy to help show Alyssa the ropes in baseball. Macey says they're gonna need a training montage. A training montage plays. After the montage, Miguel says Alyssa is ready. Alyssa says Macey is good at instigating training montages.
Later that day, Macey's team has entered the diamond to play. Macey looks at the opposing team and thinks they might be toast. The opposing team consists of Austin, Alex, Jarrett, Ford, Aaron, Zack, Jake, Zach, and Brennan. Macey looks at her team of Alyssa, Laila, Brea, Ashley, Kaylee, Carly, Georgia, and Grace. Kaylee says they're gonna do great, even if the opposing team looks intimidating. Austin looks over at Macey and says that he's gonna win this time, especially after how that snowboard competition went. Laila retorts back, saying that she bets Austin hits like Snow White. Austin wonders what that's supposed to mean. Laila says she tried to make a comeback. Macey says she'll give it an A for effort.
The game starts, and Alex is the pitcher for Austin's team. Carly is nervous because she's heard that Alex is a good pitcher. Alex strikes out Carly. Ashley is up next. She manages to hit it, only for it to be caught by Jake. Alex then strikes out Georgia. After the top of the inning, Macey wonders who they're gonna have pitch. Grace offers to because of her arms. She flexes and mentions that Dr. Eggman called her gym stats scary. Grace manages to strike out Ford and Brennan, but Alex gets a base hit. Macey thinks this is hopeless. She then hears a whisper from above their dugout. She looks and sees Wyatt with Miguel Cabrera. Wyatt tells Macey that this guy wanted to talk to Alyssa. Alyssa goes up to Miguel and wonders what he wants. Miguel just wanted to wish Alyssa and her team luck out there. Alyssa smiles and thanks Miguel. Miguel says to not get mauled by a tiger out there. Alyssa is confused.
After a few innings pass by, the score is tied up 5-5. Austin is in shock that Macey's team managed to catch up. Zack says they need to step up their A-game. Aaron agrees and says they need to bring out the big guns. Jarrett wonders what exactly he means by big guns. Aaron pulls out a Super Star. Brennan wonders what good that'll do besides make them invincible. Aaron says it'll increase their speed and strength. Austin thinks it's worth a shot. Jarrett also notes that they should use their Stars wisely, as they are on a timer. Austin forgot about that and agrees with what Jarrett said. Brea notices this and tells Macey about Austin's team. Macey thinks that if they can use power-ups, so should they. Alyssa isn't too sure about that idea. Macey wonders why. Alyssa says she wants to win from skill, not from advantages. Macey thinks Alyssa is right and says they shouldn't have to rely on power-ups to win. Everyone on the team agrees.
It's now time for the seventh inning stretch. Everyone begins singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". Suddenly, out of nowhere, Vector shreds a sick guitar solo. Jake thinks that was a bit much, but cool nonetheless. After the stretch, the game continues to play out. Alyssa finally gets her time to shine as batter. Alex thinks this will be an easy out. To Alex's surprise, Alyssa is a hard hitter. Alex says he's more surprised than the time he went to see 80 For Brady. Alyssa continues to score runs for Macey's team throughout the 7th and 8th innings. Austin can't believe this. As he goes up to bat at the top of the ninth, he uses his Star. Grace pitches, and Austin hits it out of the park. The game is tied back up. Austin tells Macey to beat that.
Alyssa goes up to bat at the bottom of the ninth inning. Macey and Kaylee have already stricken out this inning. She's extremely nervous as this could make or break the game. Alex is nervous as well. He gives it his all in this final pitch. Alyssa concentrates on the ball. With perfect timing, Alyssa hits the ball out of the park and scores the game winning home run. Macey's team cheers. Austin's team groans in disappointment. Macey is really proud of Alyssa for scoring the game-winning run. Alyssa thanks her, as well as Miguel Cabrera, for training her to become such a great baseball player. Leroy the Turtle approaches with their cash prize. Macey's team then smiles for a photo. A disappointed Austin walks away. Macey notices this. She goes over to Austin and tells him his team did great. She gives Austin's team her prize money. Austin refuses at first, telling her she won it fair and square. Macey insists. Aaron thanks Macey and says this says a lot about her character. Alyssa says she said the exact same thing. Austin smiles at Macey and tells her she's cool in his eyes. Macey smiles back.
