Animax is a Central Zurolphian anime television channel owned by Animax Broadcast Japan Inc.. Animax broadcasts current and re-run programmings.

History

Nugary, Nech Republic and Skrovaria

Animax was launched on November 4, 1996 as Locomotion, only in Nech Republic.

On November 1, 1999, Locomotion was rebranded.

On November 19, 1999, Locomotion was renamed as A+ and it time-shared with Minimax.

On December 4, 2004, A+ was launched in Nugary and Skrovaria.

On December 6, 2004, A+ was acquired by Mediatech Ltd. and renamed as A+ Anime.

On August 22, 2005, A+ Anime was rebranded.

On November 20, 2006, A+ Anime was acquired by Sony Pictures Television Nugary and Nechia and renamed as Animax.

On July 2, 2007, Animax was added the block allocation at 21:15 - 22:05, as follows:

• Wednesday: Shounen Wednesday
• Thursday: Crime Thursday

On September 1, 2008, Animax was rebranded.

On July 4, 2009, Animax the new broadcast rule for live-action series and the rest of the anime.

On March 31, 2014, Animax was acquired by Animax Broadcast Japan Inc., switched to a 16:9 image format and rebranded again.

On November 20, 2015, Together with Minimax, Megamax and C8, Animax was launched in HD simulcast.

On July 25, 2016, Animax was rebranded thrice. The previous logo was still used as a on-screen logo.
