A Few Braincells to Spend is an episode of Red Life. Had the show continued, this would've been the first episode for the show's sixth season. Since it ended, the episode was instead posted on the Strason.com website and posted on Elliot Strange's YouTube channel.

Plot[]

Corey and his friends are struggling with a difficult video game. The developer (a soda company) is hosting a contest and will give anyone who beats the game a major grand prize, and the four are adamant on beating the game. After a while, it dawns on them that they don't have the initiative to continue. Corey decides to have Trina play the game after learning about how she won three gaming tournaments a few years back.

Trina refuses to help them, but she is goaded into it after the four convince Mina to dress her up in a persona that blindly obliges to everything. She plays the game and she seems to be doing well at it, eventually beating it in the process. However, she soon learns that she was playing on Easy and that the only way to win the game properly is to play on the game's hardest difficulty.

After struggling, she beats the game again, but becomes infuriated after Kin reveals that there's a secret level she needs to play on. The secret level is beaten, and everyone is greeted with a mere victory screen, which they express disappointment toward, until Mina tells them that they have to take a picture of the TV screen and send it to the developers to claim their prize, which Trina does.

Trina takes the prize for herself, claiming she deserves it for persevering through the entire game, but upon getting the prize, she realizes that all she won was a twelve-pack of the company's soft drinks, along with a bitter letter claiming that the contest was only done to trick people into clearing their inventory quicker. Trina begins drinking the soda in a depressive binge.
